About your trip

Escape the cold and holiday rush and join Blue Planet for a long weekend of diving in Cozumel! One of the most popular dive destinations in the Caribbean, Cozumel offers big reefs, warm water, great viz and a guaranteed good time.

Cozumel

Cozumel is one of the most popular dive destinations in the Caribbean, perfect for both beginners and advanced divers alike. The choice of activities is boundless in Cozumel: golden beaches, turquoise waters, friendly people, festivals, scattered Mayan ruins, great restaurants, a myriad of stores, diving, golfing, romance, and a whole new world where everybody has a place under the sun. But the diving takes center stage...

The Diving

Most dive sites are found within the boundaries of the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, which protects 29,000 acres of the Meso-American reef system – the second largest barrier reef system in the world. The currents Cozumel is famous for provide an effortless drift diving experience, allowing you to fly over dramatic walls and vibrant coral gardens while expending minimal energy. This unique style of diving allows you to cover vast distances and simply enjoy the incredible scenery as it unfolds.

Cozumel's flourishing marine life is a major draw. The protected park is home to some 26 types of corals with more than 100 subspecies and over 500 fish species, including the endemic splendid toadfish. Divers often encounter magnificent sea turtles, graceful spotted eagle rays, and curious nurse sharks resting under ledges. You'll explore iconic sites like the stunning coral tunnels of Palancar Reef and the dramatic vertical drop-off of Santa Rosa Wall, each offering a unique and unforgettable dive.

Looking for something different? Try your hand at coral restoration, or join a blackwater dive!

Hotel Flamingo

Hotel Flamingo is a unique boutique property located in the cultural center of Cozumel. It is just steps from the water front, dining and shopping attractions of the town square, yet quietly hidden away. Their open-air restaurant serves breakfast on site, while the full bar is perfect for kicking back in the evenings.

Travel

Round-trip flights to Cozumel are around $500 and go up from there. You should plan to arrive at Hotel Flamingo in Cozumel before dinner on December 6th. We will need a short amount of time to get checked in and situated at the hotel. After dinner we will have an orientation by one of the dive crew so we are prepared for the next day's dives. When leaving, choose any flight that leaves after 1 PM on December 10th (unless you plan to stick around and visit the cenotes!). Call the shop for details or questions on flights.

Cancellation Policy

Upon cancellation of a reservation for any reason, the refund of the deposit and payments made or due will be contingent upon Blue Planet reselling the participant's reservation. Any refund may also be subject to a $250 cancellation fee and payment of any non-refundable fees imposed by the tour company, dive operator or any other contractor associated with the trip.

Dive accident insurance is required for all divers on this trip. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your vacation investment. Contact us if you need more information.
