Fly into La Paz, Mexico (LAP) and take the shuttle to the M/V Valentina, our home for the week. You can start boarding at 6 PM and you must be on board by 9 PM. You can arrive the day before if you'd like and enjoy La Paz's vibrant malecón and downtown!

Dive, dive, dive!
We'll explore the most famous dive sites in the southern Sea of Cortez and East cape in Baja California. We'll be doing 3 dives each day with a night dive with mobula rays one evening. Underwater highlights include frolicking with sea lions, looking for Hammerhead sharks in the deep of El Bajo and marveling at the species endemic to this region.

We'll squeeze in 2 more dives before we head back to port in La Paz. We'll arrive in the afternoon and then hit the town for dinner that evening.

Arrive in La Paz

This was a once in a lifetime trip and the underwater world showed up! We had lots of time with minke whales and had a researcher with us… fantastic! The food was great, the crew always put safety first, and the Blue Planet family was amazing. Because we went in Australia’s winter, bringing medicine for sea sickness was essential.

Minke whales were what we were after and we had a lot of them to say the least and plenty of time to observe their behaviors. Another well executed trip by Blue Planet. I am always looking for where I might be able to travel to next!

This was my favorite Blue Planet trip yet - I’d give it six stars if I could! The dives were amazing - mantas, minke whales, sharks, turtles, clownfish, and so much more! Heather and Jonas found fantastic activities for us on land as well, like a rainforest tour. When I had trouble with an airline delay, Heather helped make sure I still got to the liveaboard on time and made sure to check in with me every step of the journey! I recommend Blue Planet as the first choice for all divers!

Blue Planet continues to offer amazing trips! Forgive the overuse of the word “amazing.” Anthony did an excellent job leading the trip at all points. Details were forthcoming prior to the trip and I felt well prepared. He was informative and helpful as the trip proceeded. Cocos Island is an amazing place.
